A convenience sample is a non-probability sample composed of individuals who just happen to be available when and where the data are being collected.
Example of convenience example
Often times individuals collecting sample data can be found stationed in shopping malls. These individuals will ask passerby’s if they would like to take a survey for a particular product or service. The pool of people are plentiful in shopping malls and are deemed as a convenience sample since they are readily available and a convenience to the individual collecting the data.
